Afitécnica was founded in 1989 and specialises in the sharpening, repair, and manufacture of cutting tools for the wood and metalworking industries.

In recent years, Afitécnica has been expanding its technical skills, by keeping up to date and accompanying industrial progress.

The idea of developing new solutions, contributing more and more to greater efficiency in tool sharpening and manufacturing, has gradually made them key elements in profitability and good quality workmanship.

Our vision is to guide efficiency and achieve greater recognition in the near future for the increasingly demanding quality of service.

Our History

1989

Afitécnica is founded. The company is focused on offering sharpening service and on serving its customers over a small counter.

1995

The company starts producing customised cutting tools.

2000

The growth of the company prompts the move to its current premises, which cover an area of around 500 m2 and include a customer service office.

2008

Realising the great growth in technology, the company begins to sell machines for the woodworking industry.

2009

The constant evolution and growth of the company required the expansion of its premises by another 600 m2, and the launch of its maintenance and technical assistance
service.

2011

The development of the company's new visual identity.

2012

The beginning of the company's partnership and official dealership contract with CEHISA, a Spanish brand specialising in the manufacture of edge gluing machines.

2016

The company participates for the first time in FIMAP, the International Trade Fair for Machines, Accessories, and Services for the Woodworking, Silviculture, and Forestry Industries.

2017

For the first time, Afitécnica is recognised as a top performing company and receives the status of PME Líder (Leading SME) 2017 by IAPMEI (Portuguese Institute for Supporting Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises and Innovation).

2019

The growth of the company continues to drive the expansion of its premises, now totalling 2000m2.

2019

Beginning of the partnership and official representation of LOHMEYER, German brand dedicated to the manufacture of high quality machines for the wood industry.

2021

Creation of a training room.

Installations

Afitécnica was founded in 1989 and was based in Gândara dos Olivais in Leiria. In 2000, in order to support its remarkable expansion and to accommodate its need for modernization, Afitécnica moved to Rua do Cemitério in Gândara dos Olivais, where it remains today. Also in the same decade, the expansion of its premises was essential for it to continue to evolve and to be able to continue provide services in the sale of machinery, maintenance, and technical assistance. With its main objectives of customer satisfaction and providing a pleasant and organised work space ever present, Afitécnica continues to invest in the improvement of its facilities, which currently consist of a manufacturing area covering 2000 m2 of floor space, a showroom, and a shop for customer service.
